Increase in minimum wage

The amounts for the legal minimum wage have been increased by 2.5% as per March 1, 2016.

From that date forward, the legal minimum wage for employees aged 18 and up in fulltime employment has been revised.

For employees aged 18 and up who work more than 22 hours per week as a ‘live-in’ home care employee, the legal minimum wage has been raised effective March 1 from AWG 763.55 to AWG 782.65 per month. The legal minimum wage has been increased to AWG 8.75 per hour (up from AWG 8.55 per hour) with regards to workweeks of less than 22 hours per week.
