30 Jul UPDATE TAX PLAN 2023 – PART II
In our newsflash of July 7, we have informed you that the Tax Plan 2023 – Part II contains a temporary legal basis entrusting the Minister with the power to reduce import duties tariffs by ministerial decree.
We can now inform you that this ministerial decree (Regulation on the temporary reduction of import duties, Regeling tijdelijke verlaging invoerrechten) was recently published. It will take effect on August 1, 2023, and replaces the appendix referred to in the Ordinance on import duties tariffs (Landsverordening tarief van invoerrechten), which contains the tariff classification system (tariefpostenclassificatiesysteem) with the associated import duties tariffs.
Under the new system, import duties on energy-efficient appliances and devices will go down from 2% to 0%, import duties on building materials will go down from 10% to 6%, and the import duties of 40% and 50% on cars will go down to 32%.
