Applications must be submitted no later than June 13.<\/p>\n<p> The salary subsidy scheme for June contains two differences compared with the scheme for May:<\/p>\n<p> 1. As explained in our email of May 7, the salary subsidy is essentially made up of two parts. One of those parts covers 60% of the SVB wages (but not beyond the SVB maximum of AWG 5,850), which is also the minimum portion of the gross wages that employers must continue to pay to their employees. A new requirement for June is that employers and employees must agree in writing to a 20% or greater reduction for short-time working. Therefore, the portion of the gross wages that employers must continue to pay to their employees is between 60% and 80% (not 100%). The SVB\u2019s online portal contains a template for an agreement (\u201cAgreement to Reduce Working Hours\u201d), showing the names and identification numbers of all employees (according to the information registered with the SVB on March 15, 2020). This agreement must be signed by both the employer and its employees, and must indicate the reduced percentage of the working hours (between 60% and 80). The employer must then upload the signed agreement into the SVB\u2019s online portal. Although the SVB has stated in an information leaflet that the agreement must be signed by all employees (implying that the employer cannot claim any salary subsidy at all if one or more of its employees do not sign), it can be inferred from the template and from information provided by the SVB in a press conference that the agreement may be uploaded with signatures missing, and that the salary subsidy will then be paid only for the employees who have signed the agreement (and not for the employees whose signatures are missing).<\/p>\n<p> 2. The salary subsidy is subject to the SVB wage limit (AWG 5,850); no salary subsidy is paid for the portion of an employee\u2019s wages in excess of this limit. However, the total costs of the salary subsidy scheme may not exceed the total amount that the Government of Aruba has budgeted for June (AWG 49.4 million). If the total cost of all applications made for June would exceed this amount, the limit will be reduced in order to keep the total cost within budget. This could mean that less salary subsidy will be paid to employers that have employees who earn salaries close to or in excess of the SVB wage limit. <\/p>\n<p> Please note that the requirements explained in our email of May 7 remain in place for June also. This includes the requirement that the wage tax and social security premiums on June wages must be paid on time, i.e., before July 15.<\/p>\n<p> Regards,<\/p>\n<p> Estimado cliente,<\/p>\n<p> A partir de hoy, los empleadores elegibles pueden presentar sus solicitudes de subsidios salariales para junio.
